That was your first vid? Whoa. It's very, very good. I'm downloading it to watch again later.

One thought you may want to consider: I was a little jarred by the voice-overs. Your vid is good enough, clear enough in its message, that it can say those things without needing the character to actually voice them. For me, there are "movie trailer"-type vids, where I would expect to find voiceovers. In "art"-type vids (for lack of a better term), I find that it breaks my absorption in the story that's unfolding. (I'm not knocking the first type of vid -- they're just different genres.)

Anyway, a fantastic vid.

Thank you for the lovely feedback :) And for the input re:voiceovers. Other people commented saying similar things so it's definately something I'm going to look into, it's so useful when I'm just starting out to have people explain what they felt they didn't work and why, so thank so much for taking the time to do so. ♥

Whew, I'm glad that was OK. I had realized after posting the comment that you hadn't in fact asked for feedback, and unsolicited advice can be really obnoxious. Especially when (as I see below) some liked your decision there just fine. It was just that the vid was so good overall! I'm glad if you found the input helpful.

So ... will we be seeing your work at vividcon next year?

Aw no seriously you weren't obnoxious at all.

Oh gosh, vividcon? I think I have a while to go before I can show my vids to a room full of people. I'm bummed I missed vidukon though, sounded like a blast.

Wow! I really liked it! All Dean all the time. YUM! And I liked how you had the little snippets of dialogue from the show in it. You rock, sistah!

Ed to say that I just read the above comment about not liking the voiceover, lol. I loved them, tho! Different strokes for different folks, I guess ...

Aw, thank you so much sweetie. Yeah I guess I always enjoyed watching vids that had dialogue included although other people found it a little distracting, like you said different strokes. And yup, any excuse to spend more time looking at Dean is good right :D Thank yoou.

This is really great - very powerful, I never would have guessed it's your first. Loved the parallels you drew to similar imagery, like Dean falling off walls. Excellent stuff.

Thank you so much :) I was a little worried I'd overdone the parallel scenes so I'm really glad they work for you.

ps. Rewatched Unloveable last week. That vid will never not be a wonderful piece of heartbreak for me.

Very impressive! I really enjoyed it. The dialogue could be a bit distracting - as in - what you re-iterated through the dialogue was already pretty well implied within the vid itself. I also found the "packet of sandwiches" part distracting, if only because Dean's expression in that few seconds is comic enough it almost takes away from the "weightiness" of the emotions you convey in the rest of the vid.

Still, very, very good. Downloaded!

Thank you so much for the feedback. It's unbelievably helpful for people to tell me what they felt did and didn't work while I'm still trying to iron out kinks.

To be honest the sandwiches bit is the part I always cringe at a second time round because it seems a little bit too much like just showing a picture of the lyrics rather than anything relevant to the story and yeah, like you said, Dean's gurning probably isn't helping any. Thanks for pinpointing why that clip always felt a little off.

I'm glad you enjoyed the rest :)

Wow, that was your first vid? Because that was phenomenal. Your pacing/beat-work were excellent and Dean's narrative was incredibly moving.

Yeah, wow.
