Cute! The colored strips remind me of frills. I love that you do the knitting for others; I am pretty much the opposite: My mother sometimes makes socks for me when she's in the grip of a really interesting pattern. . Anyone who thinks knitting socks is the epitome of boring hasn't googled "socks ravelry".

That looks like an afterthought heel, but I could be wrong (have only done 3 different types of heel).
I love that the one is the opposite of the other. Socks should match but be slightly different. I approve of this cheeky detail!
