Dad's Favorite Bourbon Cake

Includes:
1 lb maraschino cherries, chopped
1/2 lb dates, chopped
1 pint bourbon
3/4 lb butter
6 eggs
1 lb sugar
1 c brown sugar
5 c flour
nutmeg, salt, baking powder
1 lb pecans, chopped

It is a heavy cake.

those gloves are beautiful!!! i wouldn't go with black, just because i've heard horror stories about knitting with black which, frankly, sucks because, hi, it's black and i'd wear it all the time... the greeny-bluey is beautiful. the pattern looks exciting. maybe i'll give something like that a try... after i tackle cables.

oh, and that cake looks nummy.

Have you really never knit with black yarn? I haven't found it to be that troublesome, myself. I have to admit, I've never really understood the whole "black yarn is hard to see" argument. That's what lamps are for, right? Or light-colored needles. I do knit in the dark alot, so it's highly likely that I just have mole eyes.
