When Hika joined the Jimusho, he was a regular on the show Ya-Ya-Yah and wasn't in a junior group. However in 2004, he started to appear in magazine with the group members and in that same year he was added to the group (Akame Naoya and Hoshino Masaki were removed), the final line up being Hikaru, Yabu Kota, Yamashita Shoon, and Ayukawa Taiyou.
Hikaru quickly showed off his talent as a member of Ya-Ya-Yah. He (along with Yabu Kota) sang lead. He wrote song lyrics and performed solos.
His hard work paid off and he debuted alongside Yabu Kota in Hey! Say! JUMP.
The FUN Facts!
1. Hikaru was a senpai-pimp. KAT-TUN, (especially Koki) loved him, Takki loved him enough to stay on the phone with him for A WHOLE HOUR WHILE HE WAS READING A COMIC BOOK, and Subaru really loved him (credit goes to Kamichan's blog).
2. Hikaru fails at Onigokko. Why? Because keeping still doesn't work for him.

Hikaru generally has four main pairings, one of which you rarely see anymore. But, before we get to those, let's start with the crack pairings! Because crack isn't wack when's it's fictional.
Hikaru x Takaki - I like this pairing because Hika show's he's BOSS. Jen-chan proves this in The Alpha Male. I also enjoyed lrigelbbub's "5 Times Takaki Acts Like a Complete Girl"
Hikaru x Subaru - Surprisingly, Hika takes control of this relationship too! *flails* XD This is peacenlovechild's Forbidden Desire. Warning: NC-17 rating.
Hikaru x Daiki - It's cute and different . . . and horny. This is Keeconk's "Hormones Speaking".
Hikaru x Chinen - Cutest of cute pairings. Chinen and Hikari-chan make an adorable pairing. I love Jen-chan's (chibilover14) "Right Where You Want Me" and miaow-2814's "Untitled"

Hikaru x Taiyo - It makes sense. The two of them were really close in Ya-Ya-Yah and were always talking about something they did together . . . and Hikaru finds Taiyo "annoying" and Taiyo claims to be the seme adult one of the pairing. XD
But "The Hardest Thing" and "Broken Wings" by kusanobabe05 are pretty angsty. Good, but angsty. XD
Hikaru x Keito - Hikaru and his fluffy make a cute crack filled pairing. Yabu and Hikaru were also close as juniors and Hikaru claims Yabu is also his rival when we all know he loves him so.
"Strings" by lrigelbbub was TOO HOT.
"I'll Never Let You Fall" by live4dehmoment was the sweetest thing ever. I loved YabuHika's friendship in it.
"Playing Dress Up" by Me. Yes . . . I had to pimp myself. BUT IT'S HIKARU MAKING YABU CROSSDRESS! XD
I also liked "Yabu and Hikaru's Valentine's Day" by fuji_chan. It's too sweet and I loved the fluffy end.
