[On the phone, you may hear a rustling of static, as though someone is running their hands over the receiver. A voice can be heard faintly in the background.]

You're in a place called Mayfield.

Mayfield? I've never heard of such a place. Is this the outside world?

I'm not sure what it is, actually.

Do you know what country this is, at least?

Judging by everything I have seen, it is the United States. Sometime back in the fifties of all things.

...ugh, this is confusing. I wasn't expecting to find myself in the outside world the minute I woke up. And having gone back in time, no less.

This Gensokyo place is awfully popular.

Is it, now...do you know others from Gensokyo who are here?

Do you know someone named Marisa?

Marisa? Marisa Kirisame? Yes, I know her well. Is she here? This wouldn't happen to be one of her machinations gone wrong, would it?

It's somewhere in the 1950's, in America! I think they call it Mayfield.

America? So this is in the outside world.

But...the 1950s? Are you sure?

Yeah! It's really weird, because that's like...sixty years in the past for me! And I live in Japan, too! So I don't know how I got sent to the past and to America.

Oh, and you're talking into a regular phone. I don't think there's cell service out here.

A regular phone...? As opposed to a cell phone, then. Yes, I think I've read about these.

But how have I been taken here?

I dunno if anyone's told ya yet, but this is a place called Mayfield. It's a weird ass town that likes to traumatize people.

Yes, and it's located in America, during the 1950s, I've been told. Is there anything else you can tell me?

weiss_tank September 10 2010, 03:51:12 UTC
Ok good so I can skip that part. Ok, so this town isn't like other towns. It's like it's alive or somethin' and not in a good way. It can do strange stuff like grow roads where there wasn't one and warp you back facing town if you try to leave.

Death isn't permanent here, but it's still not pleasant to die.

[Takes a moment to absorb this.]

So I take it that it's impossible to leave this place. And death isn't permanent...? What happens if you do die?
