Does anybody know anything about radiators? And if so, would you be so kind as to share your wisdom? For example: How do you turn them on/off/up/down? If a pillow or blanket is on/squished up against one, will it start a fire? What about cords? Anything else you can think of would be fantastic ( Read more... )

All I know is that in winter, if you take a shower in the morning, and you leave your clothes on the radiator while you're in the shower, you get to put on nice warm cozy underwear, warm socks and warm shirts... the feeling keeps you cozy all day long!

We had them when I lived in CT.

I don't know much, but I don't think I would squish a pillow or blanket up against it. If it's an old furnice I would bet that there is a good chance that it will catch on fire, especiall if your pillow/blanket materials are flamable. If you really wanted to squish a pillow up against it I would only do that when you're home so you can keep an eye on it.

Yeah. I have my bed next to it so I'm kind of scared I'll knock over a pillow in my sleep. Maybe some rearranging is in order...

Hahah awesome! I want to see.

P.S. - Did the el trains in NY spark at night like the el trains in Chicago do? The first time I saw it I thought it was lightning.

Yeah, I'm digging the heat. Thoroughly digging. I'm one of those freaks who's always cold. Share some of your Minnesota tolerance, will ya? :)

I think Rachel is right. If you turn it to the right, which should say closed, it will be less warm. I'm glad its toasty now. ;]

Dude!! We should watch that soon. I just exclaimed BONNNNNNNNNNNNG on tuesday and have been thinking about it since. Snoochie Boochie!!
note: for those unfamiliar, snoochie boochie is not a term of endearment or a silly pet name. I say that only because I dont wish to be mistaken as someone who uses such phrases.
