When I write emails, or even speak outside of comfortable contexts with close friends, my language is kind of overburdened with "would" and "could" and "maybe if it's not too much trouble." I tried going to the UW yesterday to talk to an adviser about going back to school for a post-bac in lingsuistics, but it turned out they only talk to "transfer students" (which I apparently am--I was not sure how I would qualify, since I already finished my one degree) on Thursdays. I did my best to edit and clean up the ripple in the middle from pasting the two scan-halves together, but I know it's still pretty bad. Alas.

I love Duolingo SO MUCH. I can't wait to finish the tree, and I'm more than halfway there now. I'm finally making progres with this language!

It has entiely devoured my free time, though. And the Hindi one looks like it will be ready soon, so there is no end in sight. Oh well, there are worse addicitons?

I took a break from studying Spanish and spent my afternoon reading the Alchemist in French. I actually studied French in school (for like 8 years, and starting when I was 12 and still had a little of that child-brain plasticity left to help out) and man it is night and day.
