after repeatedly admonishing my kids not to procreate my daughter and her husband have defied me. they're pregnant and due june 8th... i am highly disappointed.

not really, it's just going to take some getting used to. poor kyrie, she's already got back problems and this is going to be hard on her.

Congrats! While you getting used to it, think of the cool name the baby will call you. Grandma, granny, memaw (yes, somebody uses this), nana or all the other variation of...

thanks -- they've been threatening me with a sticky baby since they found out. i have a phobia against 'sticky'.

yeah, i've heard it all... and then they laugh.

thanks -- me too. she came in yesterday stripped her clothes (she got sick on the way over) and had to wear mine. she's not to go anywhere without her saltines and ginger snaps.

Oma Ginny! Congratulations, and I do hope your daughter's nausea abates. My sister found ginger tea very helpful for those episodes while she was pregnant.

thanks! =) she's okay if she remembers she has to eat something as soon as she gets up (like a cracker or cookie) but she's stubborn that way. i've tried the ginger tea, candied ginger etc. but she'll only eat the ginger snap cookies so i got her the 'good' kind with molasses.

Congratulations! Children never listen to their parents no matter how old they get. You know that :D.

thank you! of course they don't. i must say that although she was so very difficult when she was younger she's always behaved better than i did so i really have little to complain about.

My parents always like to tell me that grandchildren are the best revenge for everything that my brother and I used to torment them with. My kids will pull their usual antics and my parents just sit back and laugh. Now doubt this grandbaby will be your revenge for all that your daughter tortured you with ;).

Us children never listen. We've been being (somewhat "subtly") told we should get on that Procreation Train.

(Apparently the MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAno response is not the correct one. Can I trade you for my in-laws?)

Also - congrats! You would make a fabulous gramma <3 <3

yes! -- they can have the pregnant couple and i'll keep you. \o/ MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

i'm serious!

thank you kim, i wasn't the 'conventional' parent but i'd been told i was a good one. i just have a very hard time imagining holding and caring for a baby again... thinking about it freaks me out a little but i can do it. *nods*
