Try calling back YOURSELF in a few days, rather than waiting to be called. It shows initiative. Finding a job in this shit economy is tough, ya gotta work your ass off. Companies want the employees who bust their ass to get the job. They won't hire someone with a bachelor's degree when they can hire someone with a master's, so graduating college is no longer a guarantee of a job. It's a buyer's market for employers, and they're being shits about it.

If I thought I could handle the stress, I'd be posting flyers everywhere for my computer repair services. Can't even make any real money freelancing unless you're willing to work your ass off. Next fat-cat bailed-out CEO I see gets stabbed in the nuts.

Kitty, I'd do what your friend suggests. You'd be surprised how well waiting a few days and then calling a potential employer works. That's how I got my job, although it may not happen to you the way it did to me, I was hired over the phone.

I think you may be right about your roommate and living arrangements...and I think you may be in more than just an uncomfortable situation. Sounds like he's doing whatever he can just to keep you nearby without any desire to acknowledge your feelings. Have you considered finding other friends to live with? Your current situation has me a little worried...
