Another thing was new now... something cool, yet sad once again, fell onto his face. He wasn't sure what to make of it, but he couldn't seem to see anything well. Zaku squinted from the bright light of the real world, trying to deny its presence. His name was still being said, but that was all he could understand. He wanted to respond to it... if only he could find a way to do it

Karin watched the fisherman go over to Zaku, and leave Karin standing there. As if she was just going to stand there while he checked on Zaku. She walked over after him, watching Zaku twitch in pain as the man turned him over. She wanted to scream out at the man for hurting Zaku, but then she noticed the dark colors on his shirt. She got closer, recognizing the color of dried blood. She covered her mouth to prevent her scream from coming out and making the situation worse, "Zaku... Zaku... Zaku..." She felt like a broken toy, unable to say anything as the tears flooded again

The ambulance parked up near where the fisherman's truck was, and one of his boys was up there to direct the medical team in the direction of the patient. They ran out from the ambulance with a stretcher as one of them came out ahead to be on the scene as fast as he could. Removing the jacket the fisherman had laid on top of him, he looked Zaku over and tried to take a pulse as the others came in behind him

The ride over was terrible, watching them take care of Zaku. Still, Karin remained calm and quiet for everyone's sake and held onto his hand, only moving once for the IV the be placed in his arm, not wanting to let go afterwards

There was utter silence on the other end... with an occasional sniffle. "What...? Hospital...?" Tomoko's voice was hesitant and more fractured. "I don't understand... Karin, why is he at the hospital...? What happened to him?"

Karin's eyes closed, "I don't know what happened to him. When I found him, he was in pretty bad shape... And we just got here, so I haven't heard anything back from the doctors to be able to tell you what they're doing for him." She had tried to remain strong, for Zaku and Tomoko, but she quivered a bit at the end, "He... - It might be best if you got here as soon as you can..." She repeated, "Is your husband home? I.. I don't know if he's ok, Mrs. Tomoko.."
