sleeping in

Butter slept until 7:30 this morning on the bed. It was obvious last night that she didn't want to be in her crate. She didn't whine or anything, but she just laid there with her eyes open, looking morose. I took her out and put her on the bed and she fell sleep instantly, and stayed until 7:30 (even after T got up at 6 and was puttering around ( Read more... )

I swear our poodles know how to tell time, as well as how to gauge when the neighbor poodle is getting up or about to go outside. Yesterday Zoe, as you know, slept like a log with me until noon (and had refused to go out when I offered it to her at 8 a.m.). Today, she got up between 7:30 and 8:00 and quietly went out to the livingroom and waited near the front door until I let her out shortly after 8:00.

She loves you all so much! And you've got the cutest puppy in the universe. Thanks for making Zoe's mornings so wonderful (AND for the poop you scoop when I haven't walked her first... sorry about that!!).

You are sweet -- thank you! The poop scooping is not a problem at all. The benefits of these playdates are so huge (Butter is happy, content, and sleepy), that a little poop scooping doesn't even register. Plus, I know you've done the same for Butter on her visits over there. You know, they always say how psychic cats are (and I know that Boodoo can be eerily prescient), but Butter and Zoe definitely seem to have some sort of mind link. Butter will suddenly ring the bell and about 2 seconds after she gets outside to the fence, Zoe heads out your door, or you and Zoe will just be hitting the corner and starting down our block as you finish your walk. How do they know? Maybe it's a sister thing...
