What is talent?

If there's one thing I've heard repeatedly throughout my life, from any number of sources, it's what I can and can't do. Future-tense, rather than present-tense. "You can't do [X] because it's not something you can learn", or "You shouldn't bother trying to do [X] because it's something only a talented few are capable of"I don't believe in talent,

this entry is really inspiring to me.. after reading some depressing posts about programming jobs for about 2 hours now :/

anyway... where did it come from? Something happen at the work place?

Basically sticking to my 'mix of skills' approach is starting to pay off and I've had it verified that I'm on the right path to starting my own company sooner than most.
