Interesting note on Hostess Brands

When I heard about Hostess disappearing, I ran out and bought a box of Drakes Funny Bones, and tried to find (in vain) one small 2-cake package of pink SnoBalls.  Those were the only Hostess Brand items I cared about that might be  disappearing, and since I only ever bought FBs about once a year, and ate SnoBalls about once a decade, figured I'd

i have to admit i am not sad to see this in general, and hope that smaller/more local producers reap the benefits.

This. I'd love to see better snack cakes on the grocery shelves, but I'm fine going to places like When Pigs Fly and Finale to get some awesome desserts.

Amusingly, the only thing that I will miss is Wonder Bread, because it is an integral ingredient (and in my opinion, and important part of the taste) of a party hors d'oeuvres item that I make to wild acclaim.

I have always had a soft spot for Fruit Pies, they being the first food item I actually bought, at what had recently become a Cumberland Farms a block away from my house.
