I´m so lucky that one of my dearest friends is also one of my favourite mangakas. I´ve always admired her perseverance, profesionality, and story telling sense. Back when I was 13-14 and I started reading manga and going to buy them at comic shops, I stumbled across  X/1999 by CLAMP. It made such a huge impression on me that my nickname comes from one of its characters and it´s definitely up in my Best Manga rating of all dates.

I tried to access Twitter to see the New York Times tweet but it collapsed... I bet it´s swarming right now.
I´m like... so surprised. I can´t say I´m a fan. I enjoy his musical work, but I don´t like many of the things he´s done. But... I mean, Michael Jackson. Well, rest in peace, if he can.
