Hrm...

I made myself a cup of peppermint tea this morning, took a sip, and made a face.

After careful examination of the box, the tea expired in Jan/05.

I think I need to buy new tea.

Odd, I thought the expiration dates on tea were just bogus. I mean, tea never molds unless you get it wet, but maybe it loses some potency? I'm still drinking some expired tea from England and it tastes fine. Maybe only mint goes bad?

I had a look at the teabags themselves and they appear to be just fine. I suspect it has to do with the essential oils in the peppermint leaves... drying out or evaporating or something. I bet it happens more in herbal tea than in tea-tea.

The tea this morning didn't really taste bad per se, it just had pretty much NO mint taste at all. Like dried grass would taste if you made tea out of it.
