I really hope that asshat manager gets fired. Firing people for making tiny mistakes is NOT good management. She's doing a HELL of a lot more damage to the company than anyone else there has done since she arrived, I bet.

In fact, people tend to make MORE mistakes when they work in an environment of micromanagement and zero-forgiveness. Being tense and nervous does not make for good job performance.

Good luck with the transfer and shorter commute. With the price of fuel you'll probably end up way in the black.

One almost has to ask, "Does the Wolf have Pointy Hair?" (Dilbert readers will understand...) There's nothing like incompetent upper-management to ruin a department, or an entire company. I don't recall reading anything in your postings about a Union, so I either missed that part or you don't have one. I have mixed feelings about unions - sometimes they can really overstep their bounds, but other times they can really help the employees, which is the actual idea.

The sad thing is that people like The Wolf get into those positions of power by driving everyone else away, leaving themselves as the only ones left to rise to the top. Here's hoping things work out for you!

Too bad you can't just punch her in the neck.

Anyway, I agree with the other commenters...having some micromanaging turd on your ass 24-7 is never good for employee morale, and the store is going to suffer for it because of her: fewer employees of sufficient experience and store knowledge o help customers, longer lines at the checkout because of fewer cashiers, and the employees left will be overworked and undertired - surly at best, unhelpful at the worst.

You sould get some friends of yours to complain about her to corporate on the sly.
