my grandmother died this morning

Jan 10, 2006 09:55

The woman who was always there for me throughout my life, who held my hand even when she couldn't remember my name; the grandmother whose memory warned me away from violence countless times; the woman who had a 50-year love affair with my grandfather that taught me the meaning of romance; today she is dead.

Update: phyxius's entry on the subject.

I'm saddened to know this. Please call and let me know if you would like to talk or have some company. (I'm already planning to be in the city tonight.)

Thank you. I'll try to call later --- it's kind of a busy day today.

Sorry to hear that.

My grandmother gave us a scare by falling down (due to a dizzy spell) last week and passing out, bleeding.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I'm glad that your lives connected for a significant length of time to have something meaningful to share with each other. Even if she will no longer physically be in this world, it sounds like she was a gift to treasure for the rest of your life.
