being a nice guy rarely pays off. but it's a curse i have to deal with. better to be this way, than be a dickhead. i guess. not much else to report. i do have a part time job now working the door at Dillinger's/Bootlegger's. easy work, decent pay. and now i will leave you with a couple of song lyrics that struck me lately ( Read more... )

Trav, I love you. Buuuuuuttt... has it ever occured to you that the "nice" side of you might actually be being interpreted as a "pain in the ass?" Just a thought. Because everytime I've actually been present to see a "nice" guy get turned down, it's because two things are happening ( ... )

Would I say it if it didn't? I haven't met anybody you're interested in in years, but knowing what I know about you, I suspect that you project your needs onto people who can't meet them. And I don't know how you are with your friends anymore, but while you argue freely with me, I think you get taken advantage of, and I think you play right into Ian or whoever getting to be alpha male, and you being the "Nice guy" who goes along. I don't think you need to dominate a conversation or be over the top, but I also don't think you should take a back seat to anyone. And that's the impression I get, from my admitted, biased, outsider-with-a-blocked-view- looking- in, standpoint. Less talking, more action. You're tired of losing girls to Ian(or whoever)? Stop thinking "Oh, he is funny, but I'm nice ( ... )
