I don't think I have ever been to a party before that the cops got called to.

I have been to conventions where the Fire department came, several times, but even that was a while ago.

Such excitement. TOTAL exhaustion, it was a very long day. I hope to post more details when i have more energy

The party was thrown by the people who have the Ravelry site. It's mainly for knitters and crocheters.

That's what I told a guy who had the desk next to mine in paralegal-dom (dumb?) He saw the knitting needles - then I showed him the pattern book that had bikinis, gowns held on the wearer by ? (eyelash glue?), and trendy-and-provocative knit tops. He was edified - and schooled.

My group was Booze & Yarn, and the leader is a 30-something gal who has her arms so covered in floral tats that they look like sleeves, made a movie of her interviews with the Fulton Fish Market vendors before they left, and owns vintage cars and clothes that she leases to movie companies. She also makes up patterns as she knits, and can figure out any mistake or get me knitting anything with little instruction - including gloves.

You would have been as bad as the rest of us, checking out what everyone else was wearing and comparing the patterns.
Oh, and I did not mention before, the first 2 hours was an open bar... too bad the line was so long only a few had more than 2 drinks.
