Despite committee promises to "post news as soon as we have it" regarding hotel rates, the rates have been online, unannounced, for so long that you can find them using google. To save you a step, The Lido Group is the official booking channel ( Read more... )

I just figured I'd save money by moving to Melbourne. : )

You will save money: You won't have to travel to get here!

On the plus side, the hotel details for the 2011 Worldcon in Reno have been up for some time, and it's cheaper and easier to get to the US from the east coast than from Perth. :)

We took your advice and booked in January. Thanks for advertising it, otherwise we would have waited for the con rates.

By the way, the committee is being currently pretending that the list of con hotels is some kind of secret. Ignoring for a moment the concept that it shouldn't be a secret in the first place, the con hotels are basically every hotel near the MCEC, except Crown Towers. All you've ever needed to work that out is a map. Now that the bookings setup has been online for over a week, all you need is google to get the definitive list, plus A4's rates.

The only real secret is which hotel will be the party hotel and, again, that should have been announced long before bookings opened. i.e. Long before now.

I'll unlock this post when they've made their official announcement.
