Lunch

Went into town with a friend to the Resources Roadshow today. Lunch was surprisingly good, as finger food goes: spring rolls, sandwiches, wraps, little pies, carrot cake, chocolate cake, other cakes, wine, etc. The speakers had passion for their companies, but it will be interesting to see if any of them will be big successes. there were 6 women in the whole audience of more than 100.

That's no good, especially for the Melbourne one, where you can't even blame it on the time of day or family responsibilities.

Don't know any of those companies.

I was just about to comment "6? Not bad." I have very low expectations for this sort of thing.

I thought of you when I wrote that. The guy I went with said there were way more women this time than the last such presentation he went to! He also pointed out that he may be the youngest person in the room apart from the serving wenches staff ... and he's over 30.

Maybe they should publicise the lunch more. I'd go nearly anywhere there were spring rolls, wraps and chocolate cake!

There are a lot more women than that working in the resources industry - I wonder why so few are investing in it? Having said that, I'm kicking myself that I didn't put a little money into some of the junior miners whose shares were at 1c 18 months ago and are a whole lot more than that now! I was always "too busy" to think about it and decide which ones.
