I'm very glad that you are OK. When the worst part about any traffic accident is the hours off, the ones where you have to go collect the police report when it's ready, then you are doing very well indeed.

Pretty much, all I have to do is pick that up on Wednesday morning and scan it in so I can upload it to Geico's website.

Otherwise answer phone calls and wait for my car to be fixed. I just remember the other two times I was in an accident being bugged out about it for hours afterwards.

Really, if it weren't for the rental car I'll be using each day for the next few (serveral?) I wouldn't really even think about it anymore.

So yeah. Meh, shit happens. :)

Good thing nobody was hurt.

Something I just learned the other day is that the same day Lincoln was shot, someone tried to assassinate James Seward.  At the time, Seward was bedridden due to having been in a bad carriage accident not long before.

Considering the relatively low speeds of carriages vs. cars, all I can do is think how much better we have it today!

Wow, yeah seriously.

Actually given the relatively low (not more than maybe 15-20mph) at the time the guy hit my car, maybe slower, the amount of damage sort of shows how much work goes into protecting the occupants.

There was a fair amount of crumpling on both cars but no serious damage to either. I think the worst bit was probably on his car, smelled like the radiator was leaking.

Yeah it was an interesting thing to say the least. Crappy way to discover all of it, but interesting.
