Well.
Just re-read the opening chapters of my drafty novel Willowshantry. Wow, it's pretty horrible. But I added 120 words, bringing it up to about 19,300, and they tell me it's called a draft because it's full of holes. Which it is.
But it's still an interesting character, situation, etc. Just need to find the plot. Which isn't going to happen soon ( Read more... ) -

- Finally hit the downhill side of the semester. And being as it's a Jesuit university, there's a nice long break around Easter ... but first, I still have to teach on the day of the first evening of Passover. Fortunately the boys have things well in hand. I think. I'm just not going to worry about it.

1. I appreciated snow days more when they actually meant a day off.
2. I was only ahead of things for the class for about two weeks ... but hey, two weeks less of stress is okay!

Note to self:
Before you get all worked up about it, remember that it's IMPOSSIBLE to write anything so that 100% of people will interpret what you say in exactly the same way.
Seriously, 3/5 is a darn good ratio, and don't you forget it.

In addition to joining the wild and wonderful world of pre-publication article review, today I learned the following:
It has come to our attention that fraudulent emails are being distributed widely in the scientific community. These spam emails use fake publisher email addresses and attempt to appear as official communications from the publisher.
