AHA comes out against sugar !

They're 30-40 years late, but better late than never. There is overwhelming data that shows that sugar added to the diet is the principal driver for cardiovascular disease and now the American Heart Association is acknowledging it. I can't believe it. The new AHA guideline for sugar is 100 cal/day for women and 150 cal/day for men.

This was the lead story in our local paper today headlined Heart group: Time to cut back on sugar although the article was basically the AP version. But odd as our local paper is almost 100% local news/local impact stories on the front page.
