Sweet and sad tale, and yes, clearly having two cubs with her, that Mama Bear was going to be defensive. Why didn't the Police look to see about cubs before they "euthanized" the bear? Seems like a senseless tragedy all the way around.

They say the cubs are mature enough to be on their own. It still broke my heart when I read it, though.

I like the perspective in this one. It really emphasized the tragedy of it. And Mama's self-awareness was utterly heartbreaking.

The article was sad. Well, to me it was sad. The article itself was just a description of events and facts. But when in mentioned the two cubs, I wanted to cry.

This is so sad. Those poor cubs. Mama was just trying to protect her boys.

That's what Mama Bears do. Unfortunately, some humans believe the answer is to kill Mama bear.

Ugh. So very sad! I felt my throat get thick when she was telling her cubs to run!

I hate news stories like this. We humans encroach on wild animals' territory, then kill them when they show up and act like..wild animals. Couldn't they have moved the family somewhere safe, farther from people? I guess I'm being idealistic.
