Well, I talked to the Dean's Office today. Apparently, I missed a citation on my project. I actually didn't "miss" it, it just should have been in a different location. I still think that my professor could have talked to me personally about this but whatever. The rules say I'm supposed to get a zero on the project, but the officer took mercy on me ( Read more... )

In my esteemed teacher opinion - that is complete bullshit. She must be an insanely petty person to take something as trivial as an incorrectly located citation to a tribunal. Sorry you had to go through that shit.

Yeah, and I think my punishment was basically a plea bargain. I'm sure that I could have taken a zero on the assignment and not have been put on probation. However, right now I'm working on my GPA, so taking a lower grade for the whole course would have affected me more. I knew the system was flawed from the beginning but this really is stupid.

We're all good here, now. I'm over it. Eric and I hung the "disciplinary action" sheet on the fridge. Its the first time in 18 years of being in school that I've ever gotten in trouble for anything.
