I'm not sure why I haven't blogged in so long. Maybe is because everyone else's post are always so interesting and entertaining I can hardly find time to tear myself away from them and write my own. god, I hate the language requirement for A&S majors...

Hello my name is Brittany, and I took 14 hrs of Cajun French to satisfy my requirement.

yes, it was interesting and different, but just damn annoying that we have to take so much

Plus, its only useful if you plan on becoming a linguist and reviving/saving the language. Which is a very important and valid career (says the girl soon to begin her quest to save Native America). So yeah, I'm glad there are others who get it.

Funny, I was just having a convo w Sam about language requirements... therealme April 3 2008, 15:27:00 UTC
Stacy and I are moving to CA in two months and I may be teaching Spanish. The funny thing is that in CA, there's a huge culture fight where folks feel Spanish is becomming too pervasive. So, even there, I may be too liberal... lol.

Yeah, language instruction in this country is a joke. In Europe, there're obvious reasons why people speak 3 or 4 languages. Language requirements here are not going to get people here speaking even 2. Btw, how're things?

Pretty well, aside from the whole trying to graduate thing. I wish I was moving to Cali in 2 months. I'm actually hoping to end up out west for grad school, but I'll most likely go to the Northern part of the state. So why are you moving? Shoot me an e-mail sometime so you don't have to post on here.
