Some glimpses of the Champs Elysees

Jun 09, 2005 08:40

Hi there!

After the dawn shoot (and a nap and a LOT of coffee) we were sent out to shoot a neighborhood. The choices were the Champs Elysees, St. Germain, or the Marais. I chose the Champs Elysees, as it's a neighborhood I never get to when I go to Paris. I hoped I'd see something new.

I agree; the Champs Elysees lacks the heart of a true neighborhood...still, it is my strolling grounds for many a Sunday when we want to buy a book or a CD or take in a movie and a macaron at La Duree afterwards!

That's true, it's great for movie theaters and such, and it certainly is open on a Sunday!

These are wonderful! And that couple with the groovy shoes (including her white-white-white platform sneakers) should be in a story.

I realized that taking photos in the peak of the day doesn't work for me--the light is so flat and hot, it does not make for interesting pictures.

I've noticed that, too, by trial and error. That's often why I take advantage of travel/jet-lag and get out early my first day in a city, because I'm AWAKE and the light is interesting. My favorite weather for photos is a sunny day with fast moving clouds. I've great luck with B&W then.

Thanks!

They were a remarkable couple. Their intense deliberation in choosing a table was the subjecct of some amusement.

Yes, indeed, I'm with you. Early or late in the day, or as you say when you have interesting weather , then you get some play with the light.

Happy weekend to you!

So many wonderful sights in Paris. Really difficult to take a bad picture there. (although sadly enough I have succeeded on that account) ;)

Well, I am positive there are loads of wonderful things to see all over Belgium too.

Next time I am there, I promised myself to visit the Atomium and Mini-Europe one more time (if they're not being renovated!)

Have a great weekend!
