Frustration != Exercise
Okay, so, I still have a lot of weight to lose before I reach what is considered a healthy weight. I eat ... relatively well, and I've lost as much as I'm going to by simply changing my eating habits. I need, now, to start getting more exercise. And walking the dogs is not enough ( Read more... ) -
Fire, fire, burning bright
I didn't get any updates on the big fire today, however, I do know that the wind has shifted and is now blowing toward our house. Still, the fires is miles and miles off, and we're still in no danger from it. How odd ...
So, I finally bit the bullet and got contacts today. They'll be cheaper than glasses, since whenever I get glasses I have to get 2 pairs of bifocals--regular ones and sunglasses. This way, I just get the contacts and some cheapo sunglasses, maybe some of those cheap reading glasses they sell at the drug store ... and even the fluid and supplies ( Read more... ) -

So, the tree folks woke my mother up at 8AM on Sunday. She was even more mad ... and then one of them was stupid enough to go over the back fence into the yard, without any of them saying anything to us first. Stitch, the lab mix who prefers to be outside, allowed the man to go all the way across the yard and set his ladder up against a tree. I ( Read more... ) -
Time to move
So, a couple months ago, the landlord sent someone out to cut down a couple of the trees on our property that were dead. Then they left them lying there, didn't even chop them up for a couple of months. Yesterday, people showed up at our house and started chopping up the trees--and, please take note, not one of them ever bothered to knock on the ( Read more... ) -
Another blow to the pack
We lost Beau today.
He went to the vet yesterday. The vet diagnosed hemorrhagic gastroenteritis and dehydration. In addition, his kidney enzyme levels were extremely high due to a combination of the dehydration and his pain medication, and his temperature was extremely low. So, he went into ICU. More Updates?
Now, Beau is sick. Luckily, I should get paid before I leave work today, so I should be able to get him in to the vet. He's had the same symptoms before, and antibiotics took care of it. We're hoping for the same thing again. That is, if he makes it through the night. Mom, according to her note, wasn't entirely sure he would. He is pretty old--14 ( Read more... ) -
Saoirse is gone
So, Saoirse has been getting worse. Her seizure medication was working well, until this week. She suddenly started having several seizures a day again, despite the medication. She had reached the point that she had to struggle to get up when she was lying down. It would take three or four attempts before she could finally get her back legs under ( Read more... ) -

So, since I lost BobiCat, I've been worried about StinkiDog. For those of you who don't know, Bobi and Stinki are brothers, from the same litter. We got them when they were weaned, and they were never separated for more than 24 hours--and that only happened twice in their 13 years ( Read more... )
