These dogs are driving me crazy! My mom and dad have been away on a cruise since last week and won't be back until late tomorrow night, so I agreed to take care of Bo, their dog and now Nala, my brother's dog. So I just found out today that I won't be starting my Americorps program next week because the program lost funding. Apparently United Way pulled their grant, so they have to make up the deficit by November 1st. They are hoping to get everything figured out by October, but there are no guarantees. So, I've been working a lot. For those that were unawares, I am working as a sub-contractor (ie- I do all kinds of odd jobs and have irregular hours) at a company called Lew White Tours, Intl. So the job search continues (sorta). I have been offered a position with Americorps and I think I will take it. I'm really freakin' excited about it. The only problem is that it doesn't pay a whole lot. It would only end up being about $800 a month plus a $4,700 education grant when I complete the program, so I think a part-time (nights/ ( Read more... ) -
