you seem to have a very good understanding of the guys' perspective on this and i do agree with you on many points.

However your last sentence is a total low blow and totally disregards the fears that guys have about marriage, kids, and responsibilities. Why call us "pussy"? Because we're not macho james bonds and we hesitate because we are afraid and unsure about our ability to achieve our goals and keep you happy at the same time?

Why is it that,by default, a couple's life together necessarily means marriage, babies, a house, a picket fence, two dogs, an SUV in the garage , and Friday nights at home?

wow, i'm sorry i've offended you. that last sentence was actually directed to my friend's bf, who reads and comments on my notes on facebook..

no, a couple's life together doesn't necessarily mean marriage, babies, a house and everything else that's attached to that.. But for people like me (and my friend, i guess), that's the sort of life i hope to live with my fiance.. and that isn't an ending for me, that's only the start.. i'm one of the lucky ones because my fiance acknowledges that and wants to start that process with me.. i guess i was just frustrated at guys who acknowledges that, accepts that, but still squirms around that issue..

LOL..

Every side has valid points..

you'd get a kick out of the website nomarriage.com

Marriage is a wonderful institution for guys..you just have to protect yourself..get a prenup..my buddy did after marrying his high school sweet heart..she got bored after 10 years and left..but with no alimony.

You can win in any situation just think and take charge.

If i was a female I woudn't accept a prenup and immediently expect a joint checking account and lots of expensive gifts.

In California and other community property states gifts are not seen as community property. So if the husband or wife gives say an SUV, it won't be divided after the breakup.

Plus it's cool if you drain the checking accounts and or savings accounts too.
