that's one of the problems I had with my 20 GB iPod. At first, it only did that when the battery wasn't completely full and hadn't been charged that day. Then it started doing that no matter what I did (charged it, updated software, beat the crap out of it) so I had to take it to Best Buy for them to send it off to be fixed. Don't know if it was the battery or if the hard drive was messed up (because I had other problems too). I haven't gotten it back yet either.
Is your mini still under warranty? If so, take it to be serviced this weekend, no matter if it seems to be working properly or not. It might be something they can fix in the store.
I haven't had problems with that yet, though now I'm scared! :o? Most of the time I use it, its in my car hooked up to my transpod (charges it and puts it on the radio at the same time), so I don't know if that makes a difference.
jaxie i'm not sure. i did get an email saying the warrenty was going to run out and i should pay 60$ to extend it. but it sounds like it doesn't matter about the warrenty. they'll still try to screw you for money.
it will be interesting to see how yours works when you get it back.
