By the way, and going completely out on a limb here, but you don't happen to be the Bloomsburg student who presented a paper on D&D a while back, do you? :)
Oh, neither - a colleague of mine did their dissertation in ling anth on on it awile back, and geek anthropology gets around quick :D. Your name just looked reeeally familiar.
Oh damn it now people know who I am. >.< Was a fun project although I can't use it for my research paper or grad school. Fun it is, professional it is not.
Although, my god, I am so darn tempted to team up with a psychology major and pick apart veganism after this fiasco. But I hate arguing, I'd rather translate or do a dig.
You'd be surprised. One of the most successful sociolinguists in my field did a paper on LARPing that was received hell of professionally :)
I don't think there's that much to pick apart about veganism, and I'd write a steaming sociological rubbutal if you did. Don't let all this turn you off to actually looking into veganism, by the way. vegan_zen sounds like it's a much better fit if you want more time on the internets with it.
LARPing. :D What I wouldn't give for a good LARP in the states.
Yeah I don't think I would write up anything. I bet we could have a good debate on the matter, but it's something that can be argued to death with no end.
I did take a peek, but right now I'm googling just some recipe groups instead and slowly branch out.
welcome. I am often times offended and amazed at some of the replies on vegan_people. I read it because they do give valuable advice on products, restaurants, and corporate responses to vegan questioning of their products. If you aren't cut off, it might be of value to still keep it as a viewable LJ friend?
Hey there, I came across your profile after reading your great replies in the datinandrelatin community. I noticed that you're doing the same majors that I am! Except I'm going the socio-cultural route in anthropology. That, and the fact that you like rabbits, makes me want to add you as a friend...may I? :)
Feel free. :) I'll add you too. I was a cultural anthro major but I realized that I wouldn't be home enough with my friends and family for the rest of my life and I decided to switch to archaeology, do some digs, but primarily work in museums.
