They cannot legally enforce that so just live normally and see whoever you want to see as long as it won't impact their job.

My concern is more gossip, as we run in similar circles in terms of events and such. A small rumor that I can't follow protocol would be a red flag against me. Like, I don't have any intention of quitting my new job any time soon, but I don't want a bad rep regardless.

Interesting, I think here no one would care about policy once they leave the company. If it stays personal it shouldn't really matter and HR can feck off.

That's cool about picking up piano again, I kind of always wanted to play an instrument, but not enough to have the patience for it.
