「産休に入りました」Finally started my "mini-vacation."

Dec 17, 2021 19:10

This morning starts off with a warm cup of honey-ginger tea, grapefruit and a couple of pages of Rich People Problems. Once the rice cooker beeps, I'll make Ryu's lunch box, do the dishes and bring in the laundry. Then it's off to the dentist, the hospital, and then back home for a meeting with a client for a few months of translation and editing ( Read more... )

That's a lot of paperwork. I hope it all goes through smoothly and you're not running back and forth on it.

I've never used coconut oil as a make-up remover, but I do have an unused jar I forgot about...😅

I love deep cleans. It's so satisfying. Goodluck with it and don't forget to rest!!

Oh, of course I'm running around for all of it -- it's very Japanese. Have as much pointless paperwork as possible and make sure to establish pointless deadlines and have ridiculous requirements.

It might depend on skin type. Some people say it doesn't work for them and causes break outs. It works just fine for me, luckily, but I don't leave it on long. I massage the oil enough to remove my make up, then rinse off and immediately use my face wash. It doesn't really sit on my skin for more than a minute or two. I also don't apply layers and layers of make up though so....

Honey-ginger tea sounds delicious.

Yay for maternity leave! I hope they do allow for more time, but I'm in the same thought process that Covid won't improve. It's slowly picking up here since omicron hit. Fingers cross that they will allow you a year though! All of that time to clean, in my eyes, can be very helpful. Since mine and Hub's shifts are shorter, we have a decent amount of time for house cleaning too. Please try to take it easy too though, my mom threw out her back being too active after she had me. (I don't mean to sound like I'm telling you what to do though)

We're on the verge of needing to be a lot more frugal with our money too. Bills are very tight, so normally I'd completely agree with needing some stress-relief spending money lol. Before we lost our jobs, I was very lavish (very much to a fault) with our money, as was Hubby.

All in all, I really hope things continue to go smoothly for you both c:

It is quite delicious! There is also a syrup I use and mix with my yogurt sometimes for breakfast when I'm not feeling a cup of tea ( ... )

Super exciting for baby time! You look great btw! After Christmas is said and done, I'm going to do a no spending challenge too but I also like your idea of spending on things that bring you joy. I don't even remember the last time I got a haircut, I'm too damn particular on what style I want lol plus I see that it looks good on the girl in the picture but it would look like garbage on me haha

I love your goals and it's inspiring me to get back to mine!

Hair cuts are such a scary thing. If I hadn't of gotten pregnant, I probably would have never chopped mine off, lol. Usually when I go to the salon, it's just treatments or color or something, ooooooooor a bang cut, at most. Usually a bang cut satisfies my urges for a cut on the rare occasion I get one.

Thank you! It's all much harder than it needs to be, really, but it is what it is. Some day, Japanese government will learn the meaning of "efficiency."

You're welcome! I don't think any government will ever truly be efficient lol.

I hope all goes well with your maternity leave and you're able to get everything checked off your to do list.

That is strange the oil messed with your face using it one way but not the other, when it doesn't seem much different. At least it's working out for you right now.

Thank you!

A lot of people said it clogged their pores and made them break out. That's the same problem I had when I tried to use it as a regular moisturizer. Maybe now that I'm washing it off quickly, it's on just long enough to properly break down my make up and sunblock without clogging pores? It's definitely not staying on my skin.

Hmmm, I can see that. I know the few times I've used coconut oil in my hair it took a couple of washes for me to get it all out, but I've always let and set and not just a quick rinse with it. I mean your natural oils can clog your pore so it makes sense this one could as well.

That was what I had originally purchased the oil for -- my hair. But it was too much of a hassle and I wasn't seeing results, so I put it aside and forgot about it until now. Still going good so far, though I'm expecting break-outs soon, as I have to switch to a new moisturizer and changing products always kills my skin.
