I wonder if the earthquake is somehow related to the one people said they felt here. It was middle of the night but I was asleep, but people have been saying they felt it.
“Prove your citizenship with more than the passport and birth certificate”…….??? I suppose each country has their own way of defining eligibility.
Maybe. For us it was somewhere between midnight and four AM. I didn't look at the time.
America has birth-right citizenship. Makes no sense to require more than a birth certificate as proof, but it is what it is. Maybe it's because I'm abroad.
I feel like the welfare checks seem like a good idea to be able to provide assistance if/when needed but it also seems like a stressful thing to add to your plate WHEN YOU HAVE JUST HAD A BABY!
Sorry to hear you're having a hard time finding clothes that are comfy for your right now. Clothes in Japan have always seemed expensive to me, but when I lived there I typically didn't even look at clothes because I'm a plus sized American and the few times I even looked for specific pieces/brands there was just no way I could fit into the sizes. Even if I was at a low healthy weight for me I would be too tall and my shoe size too big. D:
I like that the welfare checks include a small physical for the baby, but preparing is a hassle and each visit is 2-3 hours long. That's a nap period!
Shoes and tops fit me fine, luckily. But bottoms usually cant accommodate a latin rear-end. I always have to buy one or two sizes up and have the waist and length altered. If I buy new, they usually alter for an additional $2-3, which is cheaper than sDking out a tailor.
That is nice they do that but dangggg that is a good bit to be out for that one "errand".
Ahhhhh, at least ya can get ones that fit in the rear. I don't really sew but I know the length of bottoms are typically an easy thing to alter. The waist kind of depends on the style. Sucks though you have to do that to get clothes that fit properly. ):
