when someone is mad at you, is it better to ask them why or to wait for them to tell you?

i'm getting the distinct feeling that people are pissed at me. am i a big jerk? (and if so, is that so bad?)

back to aristotle and uncle tom's cabin (my hw rocks).

It's their responsibility to tell you if they're actually mad. If you really feel it's a problem, ask them directly, and if they tell you everything's all right then they really have no excuse to turn around and be angry at you.
