What's this? A Christian poking fun at his own religion?gun_metalDecember 6 2005, 20:31:14 UTC
The Christian right has benefitted for years by having the catchiest holiday with the best marketing. But because of Bing Crosby or Dr. Seuss or Santa or all of the above, it has now grown beyond them. It's only natural that they make every attempt to refocus back on their Messiah, and I think you're taking it way too personally.
And yes, the tree is a pagan symbol. This is news to few. New religions borrow from the old, primarily for ease of conversion.
But this Christmas, I plan to forgo all gifts and just sit around thinking about the God who was also a man... the God who was hung on a chunk of wood with a spear in his side... the God who died and rose again to save us all from death.
No I'm not talking about Jesus... I'm referring to Odin.

Note to the reader: all opinions have been exagerrated for the purpose of humor. The views expressed are not neccessarily those of the creator when he's actually sane, which is rarely if ever.
Are you serious about this debate? People are fucking dying of hunger and war and all kinds of stupid shit and we're spending our time fighting over whether or not it's a Christmas tree of a Holiday tree?? What the fuck is wrong with people?
