Dallas isn't exactly the location away from New York City that I would have chosen to travel to at this point, but for the next three weeks, I'm in Dallas with the other four guys. We're doing three episodes here. I'm actually rushing to write this during a filming break, because we started filming the first one today, at a fraternity. I'll let you ( Read more... )

I'm sure there are a lot of guys in Dallas who really really need it, though. My first thought when you said "cowboy" was some romantic (in the sense of adventure, not love and hearts) figure who definitely needs no makeover in any shape or form. Then I think of real cowboys, not fictionalized ones, and the word "redneck" creeps into my brain, along with good old Dallas names like Bubba. Yeah. Have fun with him.

I wonder if the one-day thing is partly to play into the Cinderella illusion? Even Frankenfurter took seven days (maybe six) to make Rocky Horror. Yes, I was awake for parts of the 20th century.

You are very welcome. The pleasure was all mine, of course.

That was the thought behind it, going to Dallas, that there's lots of guys who need it. Hey, even the non-romantic cowboy could be attractive. I don't know if he is, yet, but he could be. The last "cowboy" type we made over was a hottie. Then again, he was also a New Yorker. This might be different.

It could be the Cinderella thing. That's a way to look at it. You were awake? You're sure? I'm not confident about that yet.

Just about anyone can be attractive with the right help and attitude. Maybe not "conventionally attractive" whatever that happens to be for the week. Sometimes I wonder if chest hair will ever come back in vogue. I'm glad there are certain men who keep theirs regardless; I like it. Are most New Yorkers hotties?

I wasn't even around for the first 80 years, so there's my excuse for anything pre-79, and then how aware of their surroundings are toddlers, anyway, so that gives me a few more years.... you'll just have to test me to find out, I guess.

That's the Queer Eye attitude! Chest hair...chest hair is a touchy issue. I've been known to have a little bit of it, but when it becomes a forest, then I have to start recommending some manscaping. The hottie ratio is a little higher in New York, I'd say, but not much higher. It's got a balance between "attractive" and "in need of the Fab 5."

Hey, I came on to the scene only about 9 years before you did. I don't think being born in 79 is an excuse. Nice try.

Fraternity, you said?

Yeah. We're making over the chairman, the chairman's room, and the frat's common room. The major event is setting up a social with a sorority.

Carson needs to get some stylish lashes for the horny fratboys so they won't jump the girl right away.

That's a good idea! I'll forward that hint on to Carson, although knowing him, he'll be too busy trying to jump the horny fratboys to listen to me.

It's shaping up to be a good one. The Dallas episodes are going to air in January, I think. And thank you very much.

Oh, good. I think it has a good message. Learn to take care of yourself. Don't dress like a lumber jack. Have a few interests. Ruddy good, I should say.

I feel rude not introducing myself. I'm Beck Hansen. No affiliation with Hanson. I'm an er... folk-pop-indie-rock-ish singer.

I like "Don't dress like a lumber jack" for the main message. It's really supposed to be about bringing out the person that they've always been inside, but your ways of putting it are more amusing.

Nice to meet you. I believe I've heard of you.
