Actually was slower than my best run by 22 seconds... but my Garmin also had this course as about a quarter mile longer than the other one.
This transition area was just huge... the run from the water to the TA was about 200 yards, and then from the TA to the street where the bike started and ended and the run started was another about 200 yards. So that was the biggest time suck during them. I just got in and out -- the nice thing about IM transitions is that you have a bag for each one, so you just dump that out, put on what was in it without having to think, get sprayed by the sunscreen folks, and go on your way.
Mike went 9:52 -- 12 min slower than his PR, but good considering the car 5 weeks before! It's actually his 5th time qualifying, but will only be his 2nd time racing it.

Do transitions on IM take longer just cause your making sure your really ready to go? I know that would make me double check everything.
