I finally got around to reading this, and oh, how you broke my heart! Rodney losing John to get Sheppard back was so full of ache and struggling, and just, *flails*! This is going to stay with me for a long time, thank you.
words cannot even begin to describe the adoration i have for this series--none. i started out with Five Ancient Devices Rodney McKay Wishes He'd Never Discovered and read through the lot of wee!john stories and i have loved each and every one. i finally caught up and found the main story (obviously) and i don't think i've ever felt so much emotion from reading a story before (not even in the HP books and those are my absolute favorites
( ... )
I think I can quite honestly say that you've just made my day! Possibly my whole month! Thank you very much for taking the time to respond and especially for responding in detail like this. I really appreciate that you did and I'm very pleased that you enjoyed this 'verse. It's got a special place in my heart, simply because I was able to explore the characters in the depth that I was. To me characterisation is the key to any story; fanfic or otherwise, so it's wonderful to know that it came across the way I intended.
What a wonderfully bittersweet story. I loved the interactions with everyone but especially Lorne and Rodney; that was unexpected and yet completely logical. One of my favorite scenes was John's first trip 'home' and Jack consoling John and the look in Jack's eyes - beautiful and touching and heartbreaking and in so few words too.
How terrible to lose Carson and John will be mourning twice and sure that if he'd been there, Carson would have been saved but maybe not. The connection you gave him with Atlantis, the mother and child relationship or perhaps grandmother, might have also eased some of the grief at least, or not. I would love to know what happens next, now that he's 'back'. He certainly has a new relationship with Lorne that wasn't there before and whereas Rodney and John might be able to slip back into place, John and Lorne might have some trouble.
You know it always makes my day when I log in to a review for this fic and thank you for picking out some of my favourite moments (so few people commented on the scene with Jack and it was one of my favourites to write).
Yes, John will be having some issues with fitting back in beside Lorne after all is said and done and I am hoping to get back to this 'verse soon. My muses have been noticeably absent of late, but I'm hoping to sort that soon!
Thank you for taking the time to review, I really appreciate it :)

I found this after chasing a long series of links, starting with the 'transformation' tag on Crossroads.
This is such fun! I laughed like a lunatic through much of it, and sniffled in other bits.
Well done!

I couldn't stop reading this once I started. And you had me practically bawling when it came time to restore Sheppard back.
Thank you for writing such a great story.
