Sir, I suspect that all is not as it seems on the planet. And more importantly:
LOTHAR IS AFRAID TO GO DOWN THERE.
That's right, sir, Lothar. Keep that in mind.

Er...there's something wrong... mib_khan April 29 2003, 17:10:05 UTC
Commander Storvik, the Drunken Bastard has left the surface of the planet and entered a standard orbit. This is a deadman maneuver it is programmed to perform if a certain period of time goes by without a codeword being transmitted to its computer.

I've checked, both with the Bastard's internal sensors (transmitted to Sickbay) and with the Murgatroid's external sensors. There are no lifesigns on board, and no lifesigns matching my species on the planet below. I'm going to attempt to download the last braintape record from my clone...but I have a bad feeling about this. I recommend you locate the crew immediately.

Sensors are now having trouble identifying anything on the surface.
The crew are not responding to hails. It's possible that they removed and left behind their commbadges. However, a Murgatroid crewman never loses his weapon; so I've long since hidden transponders inside the standard-issue phasers and tricorders for just such an emergency.
I'm having the computer track down as many as it can, and beam the life signs nearby directly into the maximum-security brigs. I've also had occasion to reinforce those over the years...
*raises eyebrow at Lothar*
...and given that some of the crew were armed, and that non-crewmembers may also be transported up, I feel that this is the most logical reaction.
