"When they were done with him he looked like something out of a Picasso piece: fifty different colors and put together all wrong."

Jeannie laughed at the image Lieutenant Colonel Sheppard's words conjured up. She could just imagine what havoc her brother and his lover had wrought on the toy robot kit she'd sent to Atlantis for her nephew's first birthday. Admittedly, the toy had been a bit old for Brendan, but she knew her brother would love it, as would Radek. She'd also sent a stuffed penguin for the baby himself.

"Of course, despite the pretty much step-by-step directions, they both insisted that *their* way was better, which might have had something to do with it." On her computer screen, John shook his head and smiled. "I honestly thought Rodney was going to have an apoplectic fit when Radek took apart his design and re-engineered it. Rodney couldn't let that happen, and well, I've attached pictures."

"Apoplectic fit? Are you still speaking English?" Jeannie grinned at Carson Beckett's warm brogue, seconds before the man himself appeared on the screen, resting his hands on John's shoulders and peering at the webcam, a smile on his face.

John turned his head and smiled at Carson. ""Well, how would you describe it?"

Carson's mouth pursed in thought. Finally he shrugged. "That's a good a word as any." He waved at the camera. "Hello, Jeannie."

"By the way, Jeannie, you're looking at the man who managed to take apart and put Brendan's robot together, and working perfectly, in a third of the time it took your brother and Radek." John gestured over his shoulder with his thumb at Carson. "And boy did *that* piss Rodney off."

Carson chuckled. "My apologies, Jeannie, but I have to say it was nice to get Rodney back for all the times he called me a voodoo practitioner by beating him in a task he considers to be pure hard science."

John turned again and grinned at Carson, and Jeannie smiled at the sight. The two of them obviously adored each other, and it was nice to see. Not that Rodney and Radek didn't love each other, and Brendan, but their affection was liberally laced with sarcasm and biting wit. John and Carson were sweeter.

"Anyway, Jeannie, I thought I'd give you the real story before Rodney sent his. I know how he like to exaggerate. And then Radek would correct him, and they'd squabble, and you'd never get to hear how Brendan though the robot walking across the room was pretty cool. Though I think he liked the penguin more." Carson shuddered, and John frowned at him. "Are you telling me you're afraid of penguins?"

"No, just remembering Rodney's rant about penguin movies."

"Anyway, Jeannie, say hi to Kaleb and Madison for us, and we hope to see you next time we're on Earth."

"Good night, Jeannie," Carson added. John leaned forward and the screen went blank.

Jeannie turned off her computer and walked off to find Madison, wondering what fun toys she could send to her nephew for his eighteen month birthday.
