Chapter Four - “The first scene”
Kazuya had a very easy morning routine. He woke up 6am on his alarm clock, taking his time to bath. Once he even fell asleep in the bath because he feels so comfortable in it. After his bath he showers fast, before he makes himself a breakfast depending on what he’s craving. Kazuya had this weird habit to eat his breakfast wearing only his towel, sometimes not even it. By the time he finishes eating, it’s usually time to leave to work, so Kazuya doesn’t give much time to decide what he wears, he just takes whatever happens to be on the top of his closet, because no matter what he takes from his closet, he looks gorgeous. Kazuya grabs his favourite sunglasses and leaves the house to his work, walking by the coffee shop, ordering the same latte he’s been drinking for 7 years.
“Hi, I’ll have an extra hot split quad shot latte with whip, thank you.” Kazuya ordered his usual without realizing that the girl taking his order was new so she might have not understood. It appears that she got it right, after all because soon after that Kazuya was on his way to work. Today was the day to shoot the first scene. The scene was about their soccer team winning the nationals and celebrating after it. It’s supposed to contain four facts; the team is respected, Kazuya’s role is dating Riisa’s role, Jin’s role is the son of the coach and that Jin’s and Kazuya’s roles didn’t get along.
Kazuya stripped his sunglasses when he entered the building. He felt nervous to meet Jin. It’s been 2 days since the last time they met, and Kazuya didn’t want to remember what happened on that night. He was afraid he might not be able to resist if a situation like Jin breathing against his skin comes along. And so it happened. Kazuya enjoyed it to the bit, which felt even more terrible that the fact that it even happened.
When Kazuya arrived to the lobby he saw Riisa sitting on the sofa, on her own thoughts. “Morning.” he greeted, stepping in front of her. “What’s up?”
“Ah, good morning!” she stood up, smiling brightly to Kazuya. “Nothing, nothing! Shall we then?” she smiled and started walking to the dressing rooms. The way she acted kind of hurt Kazuya’s feelings. It was clear she was troubled, but it seemed her problems were too deep for her to share with him. Instead of asking her about it again, he decided to keep himself silent. He had to think of something to distract her with, something to take her mind away from any problem she might have.
“It seems Akanishi-kun is late again.” Kazuya said, and wanted to mentally beat himself up for actually having Jin as the first thing coming to his mind.
“He called me last night if I wanted to have few drinks with him and-”
Kazuya’s eyes flew on Riisa. He didn’t hear how she continued from that because she basically just told him that she was on a date with Jin last night. Not that Kazuya was jealous. He just didn’t really appreciate that first Jin jump to the sheets with him and the next day he’s on a date with Riisa. Kazuya didn’t have the guts to ask her to repeat so he just smiled to her, making a small laugh saying; “Is that so?”
Riisa nodded to Kazuya, looking like she was on her own world again. So the problem she had earlier, or the one she was thinking- was Jin? That’s just perfect. “Kazuya-kun, what do you think I should do?” Oh crap. Kazuya had no idea how to answer since he wasn’t really listening. Mentally he wanted to blame Jin for that, but in the end it was his own fault for not concentrating on his friend, but Jin who had really no place in his life anymore.
“I really don’t know.” he ended up answering when he sat down on the dressing room, as they had to wait for the others. They weren’t the only ones there, but there wasn’t anyone hugely important yet, like Jin.
“Morning.” Jin walked in to the room, hair all messed up, clothes clearly same as last night and smelling like the mix of alcohol, cigarette and cologne.
Kazuya couldn’t just watch. “So you’re going to clubs when there’s work the next day? A little respect towards everyone here, mister, besides-”
“You know nothing so shut up.” Jin said, turning his back to Kazuya, which took him by surprise. He wasn’t used to Jin treating him like that. He had seen the arrogant, annoying cunt Jin, he had seen the sweet, romantic and funny Jin; but this cold, not caring Jin was new to him, and he had to admit, he got slightly worried. Now he really regretted that he didn’t listen to Riisa, maybe she said something that had something to do with this.
None of the three of them said anything before they started shooting. Jin and Kazuya wore blue-white soccer uniform, meaning normal blue t-shirts, with white sections on the ribs and white shorts. The socks were blue with white stripe on the top. Just a normal soccer uniform. Riisa was wearing he hair up and a high school uniform of their school.
The scene was about Kazuya scoring the last goal and everyone starting to cheer. They were at this huge arena shooting the scene, and every second Kazuya got, he gave a quick glance at Jin. He wasn’t sure if he was still drunk or what was wrong with him, but he wasn’t saying a word and if he hadn’t the make up and hair styled up, he’d look terrible, or so Kazuya liked to think even when he knew it was not possible.
“Okay, guys, let’s start! Scene one, take one!”
Kazuya was standing in the spot light, looking the goalkeeper of the opposite team, giving a small smirk, pulling his hair back and starting to run with the ball before kicking it straight in. When the ball stopped, Kazuya raised his fist, yelling lot of cheers before everyone joined him.
Jin cheered with the best he could in the state he was. He jumped on the goal, hanging on the top bar of it, before giving a quick glance at the coach who was jumping in full joy, as everyone ran to Kazuya, lifting him to air, cheering out loud.
“Okay, cut!” They did the scene quite many times, from lot of different angels. It didn’t took much effort cause the scene had no dialogues. “Okay then, scene two, take one!”
Kazuya was let down and he looked the audience, waiving at one particular girl. Riisa started dashing towards him, and Kazuya ran to meet her in the halfway. Riisa jumped into Kazuya’s arms, wrapping her legs around Kazuya, smiling and laughing happily and Kazuya had to admire Riisa’s professionalism to separate his work and real life. “Congratulations!” she yelled closing the gap between them, pressing her head on Kazuya’s shoulder.
“And cut! That’s great guys!”
--
“Good work everyone!” the director said as they stopped for the day.
Kazuya was dead tired. He couldn’t wait to get to his perfect bed and bury himself on the sheets. He couldn’t help, but to smile to himself, thinking he could do some facial treatment tomorrow. He packed his stuff up, stretching a bit before he was ready to leave. He saw Jin putting his hood over his head, so that it was covering almost half of his face. Kazuya had to tell himself to stop when the huge urge to follow Jin to see what he was doing stroke.
In the end, Kazuya could stop himself and headed home. When he arrived, he just threw his bag in the corner and stripped himself to his boxers while walking to his bed. Closing his eyes, he started to think about stuff, about the day, about what if he had done other ways in his acting, talking, everything. Before he noticed it, he had fallen asleep.
That didn’t last for too long, though. Kazuya woke up from his perfect dream about his love life that didn’t include Jin, and he was perfectly happy. He woke up because his phone was ringing. Usually he had it off when he went to sleep but tonight he was so tired, he must have forgotten. “Yeah?” he mumbled into it before realising he didn’t press the ‘ok’ to answer. He let his thumb travel on the phone before pressing the key. “Hello?” he finally mumbled.
“Kazuya-kun! Jin’-kun’s in trouble! I think he needs your help, I can’t-”
“Calm down.” Kazuya said. “I didn’t catch one word.” he mumbled tiredly, but he was lying. He heard the word Jin and help and that was enough for him to stand up and start getting dressed, and by dressed Kazuya didn’t mean jeans or some fabulous shirt. He meant grey sweatpants and a black rather tight t-shit he used to use when he went jogging after work. That was when he wasn’t dead tired every time after work.
“I was on my evening jog, and I passed this club and Jin-kun was in a fight and-”
“Fight? Jin?” Kazuya couldn’t believe it. How stupid can a man get. Plus club? Second night in a row? Who knows if it’s the third? He had to fight himself against the urge to ask her why was she on her evening jog at 1am. She had clearly followed him; probably from the same worry than Kazuya. “Which club?” Kazuya waited for the answer before nodding on his phone. “Thank you, I’ll be there in a second, you can go home.”
Kazuya stepped on his car, driving to the club. He stopped the car far enough for it not to get stolen or broken, but close enough for Jin to manage to get inside it. Kazuya walked to the club, getting lot of looks, not because he looked gorgeous, but because of what he was wearing in a club, and perhaps the fact that he’s Kamenashi Kazuya. He walked through the club, searching Jin with his eyes, before he pumped into someone. “Oh, I’m sorry.”
The guy he pumped into turned around, giving a small drunken smile to Kazuya. “It’s okay.” he said then. He was rather handsome, Kazuya had to give him that. He had black quite thick hair, handsome face and soft looking lips. He was wearing normal jeans and a tank top, and Kazuya couldn’t read if he was straight or gay. The guy took his hand out, ready to shake hands with Kazuya. “I’m Ryo.”
Kazuya gave his hand and shook it with the guy. “I’m-”
“Kamenashi Kazuya.” This Ryo guy answered for Kazuya, making him look shocked. He’s been known before, all the time actually, but he was never treated this normal, while knowing who he is. “Want something to drink?”
Kazuya couldn’t believe it really. It seemed the guy was gay, and tried to hit on him, even though he was wearing sweatpants, and a t-shirt. “No thanks, I’m looking for my friend, he got into a fight. He’s about this-” Kazuya raised his hand a little above his head. “Tall and has brown hair, probably looks like a mess and is drunk as skunk. Have you seen him?” The way Ryo stared at Kazuya made him feel a little uncomfortable as he wasn’t on his best for at the moment.
“Are you talking about Akanishi Jin?”
Okay, he knew men idols, and offered to buy Kazuya a drink. He’s definitely gay. “Yes.” Kazuya smiled. “Have you seen him?”
“And why would someone as gorgeous as you be looking for such an asshole as him?” Ryo asked, leaning a bit to the front, to lock their eyes, giving a smirk that would usually make Kazuya’s knees melt. Before Kazuya had time to answer, Ryo let his hand slide on Kazuya’s waist and he had to kick himself mentally for wanting to rip of the man’s clothes and blow him on the spot.
Kazuya leaned a little closer, ready to lock their lips. Why shouldn’t he? He deserved some happiness, didn’t he? But right before their lips touched, he heard Jin’s voice which woke him up. Kazuya leaned back watching Jin dancing with two women, yet checking out a guy dancing behind the women. Jin was so gay, and he just didn’t want to admit it to himself. Kazuya moved his look back to the man he had just met, bringing his hands to his chest. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t worry about it.” he smiled to Kazuya. “We’ll meet again. Soon.” he said, drinking his drink with one gulp before walking past Kazuya, and Kazuya had to wonder who the hell was that guy. Forgetting all about Ryo, Kazuya walked to Jin and leaned on his hips, standing in front of Jin.
“Oh, girls, meet Kamenashi Kazuya, my dear, dear friend.” Jin hooked Kazuya under his arm, keeping dancing. “Kazuya, meet the girls whose name I don’t remember.” he said and Kazuya could see from his eyes, he had taken a lot more than alcohol.
“I’m taking you home. Now.” Kazuya said, starting to pull Jin with him. Jin didn’t seem to fight him back that bad, or maybe he was just too drunk, or high to understand the situation. “How could you be so stupid?” Kazuya lectured him as he held Jin’s arm while walking to his car.
On the way a girl stopped in front of them, smiling to Jin. She was very trashy looking, wearing mini shorts and bra that showed pretty much everything, and that’s exactly what doesn’t turn Kazuya on. Women always try too much to look good. Men don’t have to do that. “Hi.” she smiled to Jin. “Remember me?”
Oh, just great. Jin’s hooker ex one night stand? Kazuya turned to look at Jin, who squinted his eyes, leaning closer to the girl, trying to see her more clearly, but obviously he had no memory of the girl, and Kazuya couldn’t blame him. She wasn’t really one of a million type of girl. “Should I?” Jin ended up saying.
“We did it yesterday in the bathroom of this club?” the girl said, pointing at the club they just got off. She sounded angry yet frantic at the same time. She clearly wanted another round, and Kazuya couldn’t blame her. Jin was amazing in bed. The way he breaths on top of you, the way the sweat moves on his body, and Kazuya had to stop imagining Jin’s naked body on top of him before he got hard.
Jin let out a small laugh. “I must have been very desperate.” he said, hooking Kazuya under his arm again. “Weren’t you taking me home?” he said, totally ignoring the girl yelling ‘Fuck you’ to them.
“I still can’t believe you.” Kazuya said, not admitting to himself that he was slightly happy about how Jin treated the girl, and how he’s been treating him that night, compared to what he has been like during the day. “What if the paparazzi saw you?” he let go of Jin and walked to the driver side of the car. “Or someone took a photo of you?” he opened the door and sat in. “Plus a fight? Jin, please, I mean-” he turned to see Jin, but he wasn’t sitting in the car. “Jin?” he stepped out of the car to find Jin sitting in the ground, leaning on his car before leaning on the ground as all the alcohol he had had the past last hour flied out. Kazuya stepped back, while watching Jin throwing up, and that’s probably the situation Kazuya realized how much Jin meant to him still. He woke up in the middle of the night, to get Jin home. He worried about him when Jin was throwing up. He even let go of opportunity to get to know cute guy who seemed to be interested of him.
So instead of telling Jin how gross he was, Kazuya walked to him, squatted next to him, caressing his back gently. “Let’s get you back home.” he smiled to himself, thinking how Jin would probably never thank him for this, but he’d know the rest of his life that he had done the right thing. And that’s worth doing this.
When Kazuya finally got Jin into the car he passed out pretty much right away. Kazuya sighed while driving to Jin’s place. It wasn’t that faraway so it didn’t take him much of time, but he had to wonder how the hell he was going to get Jin’s ass to his bed from the car. When he drove to Jin’s yard, Kazuya stopped the car, making sure the car was off when he walked around the car. “Come on. Let’s get you to your bed now.” Kazuya helped Jin stand up as he was half awaken.
Jin leaned forward, not being able to walk. “Here’s a pop quiz for you.” Jin said then. “Do you want to come in for some after party with me?” Jin smirked. “A. yes,” he whispered against Kazuya’s neck. “b. yes,” he said, kissing Kazuya’s neck up to his cheek. “c. yes.” he said before locking their lips.
“J-Jin,” Kazuya broke the kiss. “Stop, you’re drunk, and in who knows what drugs, and we got work tomorrow.” He said then as they entered Jin’s house. “You should be careful. Anyone could’ve seen that, you know.” He said placing Jin to his bed.
Jin sat on the bed, his head between his legs. “I guess. I’ll be going.” Kazuya said then, shrugging. “See you tomorrow- at work.” he said before turning away, but when he heard a sniff, his heart skipped. He froze to the spot before he was able to turn around. He took a deep breath before walking back to Jin and sitting next to him. “Jin, as much as the lower part of me disagrees with me, I’m not ready to have another secret sex relationship with you, having to hide everything, seeing you with girls, I just can’t-” he stopped talking when he turned to see Jin, seeing his eyes, looking right back at him, full of tears.
“I want you, Kazuya.” Jin said then, not sounding that drunk anymore. Maybe it’s the vomiting, or sleeping for 10 minutes in the car, but he had sobered up just a bit. “I hadn’t realized it before, but,” he made a small pause before gulping and continuing. “But when you said- this shouldn’t have happened that day I- I just lost it.” he looked the floor, sniffing again. “I haven’t been sober after that, I’ve been taking some drugs I’ve never even heard. Again. And the worst part isn’t the alcohol, or the sex I’m having with people to forget, it’s the fact that no matter what I do, no matter how badly I fuck things up, I’ll have to see you at work.” he said then. “And there you are, standing gorgeous, and there’s nothing I can do about it.”
“Jin, I don’t understand, I thought-”
“I’m not going to come out. Which means I can never make you happy.” Jin interrupted Kazuya, letting a tears fall down his cheek. “And it kills me, to know that I can’t make you happy. I don’t want to hurt you, so I will back the fuck off now.” he said then. “No more stealing your jacket, knowing to get something out of it, or asking that girl from work to call you to pick me up. Nothing like that.” Jin said and Kazuya didn’t know if he should be mad at Jin for doing those things, or sad that it seemed Jin had serious feelings for him, but he was too scared to get out of the closet. “I still don’t think of myself as gay because as much as I’ve watched men, none of them is attractive to me. That goes pretty much for all the girls.” he sighed.
“Jin.” Kazuya felt moved, touched. Jin had always cared about him. Kazuya run his hand through Jin’s hair, smiling to him. He leaned closed to wrap his hands around Jin. Jin closed his eyes, answering the hug, sniffing few times, every once in awhile. Kazuya wasn’t sure how long they stayed that way. It could’ve been seconds, years possibly, but he didn’t care. All he knew was that he needed to stay by Jin’s side, as long as Jin needed it.
They ended up laying the bed, hugging each other before falling asleep and Kazuya thanked himself for having an alarm on his phone, otherwise they would be late tomorrow, and of course Kazuya didn’t want that. The only thing he was cursing at the moment was the fact that they had to get up in two and half hours. “It’s all going to be alright.” He whispered into Jin’s ear as he heard breath his calming down.
