I have good news -- the tumor looked very like a plain, everyday lipoma, nothing at all to worry about in the least.  I went to watch, since I've never seen surgery with a laser before, and it took Dr. Vaughn a bit of time to get through the muscle to the growth, but it was well formed and just popped right out, about 3/4 the size of a golf ball.

Back when I was pre-vet in undergrad, I worked in a vet clinic, and watching surgery was a treat.  I was glad to watch.  =)
