let me tell you a story, something to think about.
in the late 70's there was a new thing called 'punk' and many kids would put safety pins through their cheeks among other things. then over time we grew older and our feelings for such things changed and we took out the safety pins and allowed the holes to close.
a tattoo is something permanent (unless one removes it with a laser leaving a scar) remember at 50 or 60 years old it will still be there, over the wrinkles, fat, and/or cellulite... i'm going to be 50 soon, i know what i'm talking about.
yea, it is a scary thing to me about how permanent a tattoo is. my thoughts about this particular one is very strong, but im only 16, i can't get it done yet, when i can i will give it a lot more thought to make sure im not screwing myself over. plus i don't know if i can get a tattoo. i have von Willebrand Disease. :(
thats freakin awesome. i love the thought you put behind the art too! and dont let the guy freak you out. if you want to get a tattoo then go ahead while we're still having fun haha =)
You have to ask yourself: what would be worse? Turning 70 years old and seeing your art on your body that you have had there as long as you can remember. Or thinking back on all the things you wish you had done, while there is nothing on your body that shows you have done anything at all.
Thats a little extreme, and you should think about it long and hard, but as long as its something that has meaning to you, you should feel proud of it.
it seems like your kindof against getting tattoos yet you have some...why?
like i've said before im still too young to really be thinking about getting tattoos, so i have time to think about getting this. but so far my thoughts are very strong about getting this. if its my art, and something i really really enjoy why would i regret having it when im 70. frankly i don't give a shit about when im old thats in the future, i don't want to look that far ahead. but for something like this i will think about how much it means to me not how am i going to look when im 70 years old.
I'm all for it. I don't have the skin for tattoos, but what you have is EXACTLY what I want. (Other than the writing, it's have my own thing.) I want Alice sleeves, with every character worked in.
So yeah, do it. If jumping into a live volcano feels right, I say do it.
