"The Shakespeare Code": much better than The DaVinci Code. Or so I suspect - I've not actually read the latter!

Anyway, the second episode of the new season is pretty fab, particularly if you're a fan of the Bard (a reference Will wouldn't get, at least according to Gareth Roberts) - a huge number of Shakespearian references jammed into a fun ( Read more... )

Well, I've enjoyed both episodes so far; there have been good bits and irritating bits as expected, and over the top monsters as usual...

Okay, I concede that witty and flirty Shakespeare is more fun than Rhino-headed aliens. 8-)

Wasn't it wonderful.

I've seen it three times already (showing my recording to people who missed it on saturday), and the line about the 57 academics has made me laugh out loud every time. As a bit of a Shakespeare fan it was just perfection.

It also confirmed my suspicion that the Doctor is both asexual and pansexual - he doesn't do sex, but if he did find someone who could do it for him it wouldn't matter who or what they were. He definitely had a soft spot for Will. He is his doting Doctor.

I like that description of the Doctor - "both asexual and pansexual". Very true! Which is why I had problems with people who said the Doctor 'did it' with Madame de P in "Girl in the Fireplace"... though dancing with the Doctor is probably as intense an experience as having sex with anyone else...

How was your birthday, btw?

I guess in GitF he did get quite intimate with her, but no, I don't really think there was sex either. The fangirl part of me likes to think that there was, and has read smutty Who fanfic, but the rational part of me knows that the Doctor just doesn't do that.

My birthday was great, thanks - my Tardis cake was stunningly beautiful.
