Okay, Of Mice and Men is just sad, and weird. Now I'm preoccupied with making sure some "friend" isn't sneaking up from behind to take me out for my own good. You know, because I've gotten old and/or dangerous. Or perhaps I just smell bad.

I'm reading The Red Pony by John Steinbeck. Every page makes me cringe a little. That's because no matter how good things are going it seems something bad or heartbreaking is right around the corner.
