Being a mom is hard work. I feel pretty inadequate sometimes. I don't know if I'm doing enough or doing it right or whatever. Sometimes I'm tired and I rely on someone to take a feeding or something and I feel guilty for that. I'm warring with some emotions that are pretty distressing but I know it'll pass and I'm just trying to get used to ( Read more... )

There's no right way to be a mom! Don't feel guilty for needing a break. Being a mom is hard and if you don't get a break you will go crazy, and crazy moms don't make good moms :-) Consider taking a parenting class at your school or in the community. They are super awesome and will set you at ease. Just remember, just because you're a mom now doesn't mean you stop being human. Humans need to rest, there will come a time when you need a break from your baby and that's ok, it's perfectly normal. Right now your baby just needs to know that the world is safe. So long as you're there when she cries, there when she needs you and she feels like the world is safe and you and your family are there to protect her, then you're doing perfect so far. good luck!
