You know he's in rehab now, right? For the booze. Which he is clearly using as a substitute because HE CAN'T HAVE YOU.

Also I am very pleased you liked it. I seem to vaguely recall inappropriateness in the note, in the form of me mentioning a towel. Also there's a message in runes on the outside of the envelope (on the back), if you missed it.

I know! Oh lord, why do I have such fearsome powers?! It's a blessing that has also become a curse!

But seriously, rehab is like a rite of passage for the Hollywood tribe so it's like, "Get well soon JRM! And you have arrived! I think."

Yes there was you naughty Valhalla minx. And I'd read all the messages.

Oh god, as soon as I saw the ads for this, I knew the obsessive Tudor freaks would be out in full force. I really like Tudor history too, but I'm not so wedded to it that I can't enjoy some historical pop drama for what it is (pretty people in pretty costumes).

Because I'm a sucker for punishment, I went over there, and...ew. What a giant, unfunny circlejerk.

You, zooby and rockgeisha have created two genres that I love--"Pretty people in pretty costumes" and "Cute boys doing stuff".

I don't think the producers of The Tudors ever pretend that the show is anything more than historical pop drama (hee and brilliant) unlike, say, a certain Mr. Gibson, so this kind of overzealous, smug and gloating corrective discussion seems kind of pointless.

Someone there was complaining about how annoying it was that the costume designer used a clothing piece from Balenciaga for the costumes. And here I thought how awesome it was for the designer to find something Tudor-y in contemporary clothes.

If you have any books about the Tudors you can recommend, please let me know.
